The Thermal Grizzly DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Female to Female Matt Nickel coupling allows for swapping components inside a water-cooled system without needing to drain the entire loop, featuring a vacuum-assisted anti-leak design and push-to-connect mechanism for seamless zero-spill operation. Crafted from precision-machined brass with EPDM rubber seals, this female to female variant delivers durability and reliability in liquid cooling systems.

Features

Thermal Grizzly DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Female to Female Matt Nickel Feature 1

DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Female - F - Matt Nickel

True zero-spill quick disconnect with integrated shutoff and vacuum-assisted anti-leak design. Push-to-connect, slide-to-release locking mechanism.

DeltaMate Fittings are water cooling connectors designed for the individual components of a custom water cooling loop. As expected from Thermal Grizzly quality, the fittings are precisely machined from brass. Brass, as an alloy of copper and zinc, offers the advantage of being anodically compatible with other metals while being harder and more corrosion-resistant than copper. The sealing rings (O-rings) are made from highly elastic EPDM (ethylene propylene diene rubber), which is resistant to ozone and UV radiation. The robust design of the DeltaMate fittings allows for installation using an 8 mm hex key. The uniform outer diameter of all DeltaMate fittings ensures seamless integration of individual components.

The DeltaMate Quick Disconnect (QDC) are drip-free quick-release couplings with an integrated shutoff function and vacuum-assisted anti-leak design. The internal geometry of the QDCs is optimised for high flow and minimises flow resistance. The DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Female - M fitting features a female QDC connector and a G1/4" male thread. Each QDC coupling requires one fitting with a male QDC connector and one fitting with a female QDC connector. For an elegant finish, the fittings are coated with a matt nickel finish.

Why are QDCs Special?

Quick disconnects are special fittings that allow components in a water-cooling loop to be replaced quickly. They are therefore a great help for content creators, since, for example, when swapping a graphics card in a test setup with a custom loop, the entire loop does not have to be drained. They are also frequently used by PC enthusiasts to integrate external radiators into the loop. Each coupling consists of a plug half (Male) and a socket half (Female), both of which are available with male threads (M) and female threads (F).

While QDCs offer several benefits, such as time savings and more options for adding external radiators, as mentioned above, they also have drawbacks. QDCs are made up of several smaller parts that require precise machining and subsequent hand assembly, which results in higher manufacturing costs compared to regular fittings. In addition, due to their function, they can cause a slight drop in pressure and therefore restrict water flow more than regular fittings. It is therefore advisable to use only as many as are actually required.

QDCs and Water Blocks

For quickly swapping graphics cards in water-cooled test benches, Thermal Grizzly recommend creating directional pairs from one version with a G1/4-inch male thread (M) and one with a G1/4-inch female thread (F). This prevents accidental reversal of the flow direction and ensures that both valves retain the coolant when disconnected: on the water-block side for the intake, a DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Female - M, and on the tube side, a DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Male - F. For the outtake, correspondingly, on the water-block side, a DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Male - M, and on the tube side, a DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Female - F. For the tube-side QDCs, a DeltaMate ST fitting (ST13 or ST16) is also required to connect the tube.

QDCs for Connecting Tubes

If QDCs are to be used to connect two tubes to each other, QDCs with female threads (F) should be used on both sides of the quick-disconnect connection so that standard fittings for the tubes can be mounted on the QDC ends. In the flow direction of the loop, the same plug half (male) and socket half (female) of a QDC pair should be used on all QDC connections. For one QDC connection, two DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Male - F and two DeltaMate Quick Disconnect Female - F as well as four DeltaMate ST fittings (ST13 or ST16) are required.
