The Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II 12V-2x6 Power Monitor features a hardware monitoring adapter that plugs between a graphics card's 12V-2x6 power connector and PSU cable to measure current, voltage, temperatures and power on each individual pin continuously. It has a built-in 320x170 pixel TFT-IPS display with configurable views for per-pin current, total power and temperature, plus audible and visual alarms if thresholds are exceeded. The CNC-machined aluminium body includes a semi-passive fan for cooling, automatic data logging and optional automatic system shutdown via the included splitter cable for extra safety. It is designed for high-end GPUs with 12V-2x6 connectors and comes with USB-C internal connection and external temperature sensors.

Monitoring

All safety-relevant parameters such as currents (A), voltages (V), temperatures (°C), and power consumption (W) are continuously measured. Thermal Grizzly has defined threshold values which should not be exceeded during regular operation, since doing so would increase the risk of thermal damage to the connector. When a threshold is exceeded, a visual warning appears on the display and an audible alarm is triggered. Optionally, automatic system shutdown can be initiated via the included splitter cable. The preset threshold values can be adjusted through the configuration menu.

Cooling

Due to unavoidable contact resistances at plug connections which result in power loss, additional heat is generated during the operation of high-performance GPUs. To ensure controlled heat dissipation, a semi-passive fan has been integrated, which operates silently at idle and activates automatically with increasing power draw and temperature. The CNC-machined aluminium housing features ventilation openings and serves as an active heatsink. Optimised openings in the rear PCB guide airflow around all heat-relevant components including the graphics card power connector.

User-Friendliness

The WireView Pro II is available in two connector orientations, making it compatible with almost any graphics card with a 12V 2x6 connector. The downward-facing connector orientation enables clean cable management, and the device simultaneously acts as a 90° adapter. The integrated TFT-IPS display offers multiple views that can be configured directly on the device. The device is fully functional as a hardware solution and is additionally complemented by software (WireView2-SW-1.0.3), which is available in the product’s download section.

Automatic Data Logging

An integrated memory logs relevant operating data at regular intervals to enable traceability of potential error events. Logged values include per pin current measurements, total power consumption and the PCB temperature near the 12V-2x6 output connector (T-Out). A data record is stored every 60 seconds. The memory supports approximately 340 days of continuous usage or around 3-4 years of typical operation before the older entries are automatically overwritten. The collected data supports both failure analysis and the continued development of safer plug connections within the community.

Extended Warranty and Clarity for the End User

To ensure a high level of operational safety, the WireView Pro II includes an extended warranty that goes beyond statutory warranty and the standard manufacturer guarantee. Should damage occur to the 12VHPWR or 12V-2x6 connector of the graphics card despite the integrated protective mechanisms, repairs will be performed by Thermal Grizzly or an equivalent replacement will be provided if a repair is not possible. This protection also applies after the original graphics card warranty has expired. It is required for any warranty claim that the device is used properly, in accordance with the user manual and within the operating parameters defined by the GPU manufacturer. The extended warranty period is 2 years from the date of purchase.

Important Information on Compatibility Checking!

Before purchasing a WireView Pro II, it should be verified whether the graphics card in use is compatible. To do so, the following steps can be carried out:

  • Check the compatibility list in the download section of the product page. The compatibility list is designed based on a horizontal installation of the graphics card with the power cable routed toward the bottom of the case.
  • Using the technical drawing in the download section of the product page, check whether the WireView Pro II is compatible with the graphics card, the case (clearances to the side panel, etc.), and, if applicable, the CPU cooler.

The WireView Pro II is available in two variants. The choice of variant primarily depends on the routing of the power cable from the power supply, as the display on the WireView Pro II can be rotated by 180° in the settings.
