Thermal Grizzly TG GPU Guard For NVIDIA 4090, 5080 and 5090

The Thermal Grizzly TG GPU Guard For NVIDIA 4090, 5090 and 5080 features a highly compressible foam gasket designed for selected NVIDIA GPUs to help protect nearby electronic components when using liquid metal or other conductive thermal interface materials. The gasket sits slightly higher than the GPU die to cover adjacent SMDs and help prevent liquid metal spread during cooler installation. The design also reduces oxygen exposure to the liquid metal, helping improve long-term durability.

TG GPU Guard - NVIDIA GPU Set

Highly compressible foam gasket for GPUs, designed to protect electronic components when using liquid metal or other electrically conductive thermal interface materials, while at the same time increasing the lifespan of liquid metal.

The TG GPU Guard is a highly compressible foam gasket for the GPU dies of graphics cards. It protects electronic components when using liquid metal or other electrically conductive thermal interface materials, while also extending the durability of liquid metal. The TG GPU Guard covers the surface-mounted devices (SMDs) next to the GPU and is slightly taller than the GPU die itself. The highly compressible base material has a height of 0.8 mm and can be compressed down to 0.15 mm, easily compensating for height differences of the SMDs.

How It Works

When mounting the cooler, the applied pressure fully compresses the foam to bridge the height difference between the PCB and the cooler, ensuring that liquid metal (or other thermal compounds) cannot spread onto other components on the PCB. In addition, the foam gasket prevents oxygen from reaching the liquid metal, which further increases its lifespan.

The TG GPU Guard is gallium-resistant.

Apply the TG GPU Guard according to the instructions before applying liquid metal to the GPU and cooler.

Not reusable. Not for use with CPUs!

Properties

The NVIDIA variant includes three gaskets each for the GPU dies of the GeForce RTX 5090, GeForce RTX 5080, and GeForce RTX 4090. For easier application, the gaskets are supplied on a transfer film. The TG GPU Guard can also be used for GPU dies with similar dimensions (see image gallery for reference). However, there should always be 1–2 mm of clearance between the GPU and the TG GPU Guard.
