"Along with the OC panel, we also have the new OC socket, which is designed to improve performance. While we would normally put this down to a bit of marketing hype, the new OC socket does seem to be working well. So far, the ASUS X99 Deluxe with the OC socket has proven to be one of the strongest memory overclockers. ASUS has said that thanks to the OC socket, you don't need an internal memory controller that is as strong on the CPU to get the highest clock.
